Data & Student Safety

Last updated · May 2026

This page summarises the data the Mount School student learning app collects, why it is collected and the safeguards in place. It is aligned with Google Play data-safety requirements.

What the app does

  • Practice tests, assignments and learning activities
  • Progress tracking and academic reports
  • Notifications and parent communication

The app is purpose-built for student learning. Administrative ERP systems are securely managed through browser-based platforms accessible only to authorized personnel.

Data collected

  • Personal info: name, parent contact, class or section and school code.
  • App activity: practice attempts, assignment submissions and progress metrics.
  • App info and performance: crash logs and diagnostics needed for stability.
  • Device or other IDs: used only to deliver notifications and prevent abuse.

Why this data is collected

  • App functionality (practice, reports, communication).
  • Account management (login, parent linking).
  • Analytics for academic outcomes (anonymous and aggregated where possible).
  • Fraud prevention, security and compliance.

Data sharing

Personal data is not sold. It is shared only with the student's school, authorized teachers, and parent/guardian. Limited processors (hosting, crash reporting, push notifications) act under our instructions and confidentiality terms.

Encryption & safeguards

  • Data in transit is encrypted using TLS.
  • Data at rest is stored in access-controlled, audited systems.
  • Role-based access. Staff see only what they are authorised to see.
  • Quarterly internal audits across the network.

Student safety commitments

  • No advertising and no behavioural ad targeting in the app.
  • No third-party data brokers.
  • Communication is limited to school-verified educators and parents.
  • Reported safety concerns are escalated to school leadership immediately.

Your controls

  • Request a copy, correction or deletion of personal data.
  • Disable non-essential notifications from device settings.
  • Close an account through the school administration.
