Privacy Policy | The Mount School

The Mount School (operated by Geetanjali Educational Trust, est. 2017) respects the privacy of students, parents, educators and visitors. This policy explains what information our student learning app and website collect, how it is used, and the controls available to you.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the Mount School student learning mobile application (the “App”), themountschool.in (the “Site”), and related parent-facing services. Administrative ERP systems are securely managed through browser-based platforms accessible only to authorized personnel and are governed by separate institutional agreements.

2. Information we collect

Account details: name, class or section, parent contact and school code.
Academic data: practice attempts, mock test results, assignment submissions, progress and report data.
Communication: notifications, messages between school and parent, attendance and circulars.
Device data: app version, device model, OS version, crash diagnostics and basic usage signals required to keep the App stable.

3. What we do not collect in the App

The student app does not handle payroll, HR, accounting, inventory or other backend ERP operations. Those are administered exclusively through authorized browser-based systems.

4. How we use information

To deliver practice tests, mock exams, assignments and learning activities.
To track academic progress and generate reports for students and parents.
To send academic notifications, schedules and parent communication.
To improve reliability, security and academic outcomes across the network.

5. Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Academic data is shared only with the student's school, their authorized teachers, and the parent/guardian linked to the account. Limited service providers (cloud hosting, crash reporting, communication) process data under strict confidentiality and on our instructions.

6. Children's data

The App is intended for school-age students under the supervision of a parent/guardian and their school. Accounts are created and managed by the school. Parents may request access, correction or deletion of their child's data at any time by writing to the email below.

7. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted channels and stored within access-controlled systems. Administrative access is role-based and audit-logged. Despite reasonable safeguards, no digital service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Retention

Academic data is retained for the duration of the student's enrolment and for a reasonable period thereafter for academic records, audit and statutory needs. Account data is removed on verified request, subject to lawful retention requirements.

9. Your choices

Notifications can be disabled in the device settings.
You may request a copy, correction or deletion of personal data.
You may close an account by contacting the school administration.

10. Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services or law. Material changes will be communicated through the App or Site.
